About Me
I'm very new to the whole transgender world in all its complexity. I realized a few months ago that I might just be happier as a woman. I don't know where this road will lead me. In a couple of years, I could still be a forty-something guy or I could be transitioning, experiencing puberty AGAIN. Maybe I'll get it right this time.
I've been out a few times. Mostly, I go to TG friendly clubs, but I did do my Thanksgiving shopping while dressed. It was 11:30 at night. Who goes to the grocery store at 11:30? Apparently, a lot of fellow procrastinators. I was terrified, but the worst thing that happened to me was that I lost a nail. And, a grandmotherly type told me that she loved the color of my top. I was in cross-dresser nirvana. Sure, she probably made me, but she treated me like a woman.
A lot of guys at TG nights seem really scary. They're all hands. I've been groped even before a guy bothered to say "Hi." I can hear the genetic girls saying, "Welcome to our world."
I love the women at TG nights. The other t-girls are so supportive and even protective of the new girl. One night, when a guy was being particularly insistent, a girl who must have been 6' 2" without heels walked up and in a very powerful voice asked me whether this guy was bothering me. That guy found somewhere else to be very quickly. The genetic girls seem just as supportive. For someone like me who is shy no matter what clothes I'm wearing, it's very welcoming. It feels like a community.
