Hi. (The classic icebreakers always work best, right? Short and to the point. At least I didn't ask "Do you come here often?")

I hate labels. Simply: My plumbing says boy, my heart has always said girl. And now I'm really enjoying living as my better half. I've come out over the past year to most of my friends on both coasts (including some ex-girlfriends) and every single one has been incredibly encouraging. I'm usually out at least 4X a week in the part of town where I live -- plus at least one day a week in San Francisco as of late -- and my friends dig me no matter which gender I represent. (My female friends all consider me a girl, and my friendships with them are much deeper now that they know I'm one of the girls. I'm now in the club, and I'm ecstatic about it ...)

It's a very wild time for me, and not just because of the transition thang. I was let go in March from the line of work I've done all my adult life (journalism), so I'm reinventing myself career-wise, too, and am looking for a job in the Bay Area as a female. Hopefully, I'll find a girl of either sex in the process (preferably a genetic girl who'll nurture and encourage me, but I'd be extremely open to a passable and sweet MTF).

I'm a Northeastern native who's sweet, pretty (often mistaken for my early 30s), bright as all hell and pretty intense sometimes -- not to mention, of course, a Gemini, a true twin spirit. If you're a sweetheart and a quick wit who likes great music (I'm into '60s garage, punk, Northern soul, rockabillly and a lot of stuff in between), pretty shoes, eternal youth, the power of the printed word, deep conversations, pretty shoes, history, makeup, pinball, pretty shoes and maybe garlic, then chances are we have something to talk about.

And no, I'm not attracted to boys -- just sweet, cute and very bright girls of either sex.
