I have seemed to notice there are those about claiming to help and support t-girls, and it also seems it is their life mission to uncloset closeted t-girls - that it is like "pulling teeth" getting girls to come out of the closet. I can't tell you how much this attitude offends me. There is no one size fits all strategy for the closet. The decision to remain or come out is personal one, based completely on our own comfort level with the MANY factors in our lives. Each of us is different, each of our situations in life is different, each of our relationships to spouses, significant others, friends, family, work is different. And the unfortunate truth is that each could be adversely affected be the decision, pressured by some 3rd party, to come out of the closet. Or it could not. Only we can know that for ourselves, others can't! Remember that, the next time someone comes around asking "why still in the closet?"

Now that I'm in a ranting mood, on to the ratings... lol.....
Though started out innocently and fun enough, have turned into a our collective junior high school throwback complete with mean girls, cliques and pre-pubescent low self esteem. The webmasters and mistresses, having introduced the ratings (and the oh so popular "Top rated" sorting category), owe it to the community to come up with a system that makes it much more difficult to game, or at least expose herd based "strategic" voting. Either that, or do away with it entirely or risk further alienation and loss of more longtime residents. That is all.

  jasmine 7/28/2008 10:52 Right on sister!!! My closet is not such a lonely place, not with all of my favorite heels piled up in there. It may be a bit cramped though! I completely empathize with your sentiments concerning other's trying to "save" others from the closet. It's a choice, and not an easy one.
