Well, my life has certainly taken an interesting turn. I've been on this site a couple of years now, was even Member of the Month a few years back, but this year decided to take the plunge and dive right into it. I am now well underway with my transition: out to everyone, on hormone therapy, working professionally as Shannon, yada yada.
So how do I feel about all that? It's mixed. Don't get me wrong, I love being able to live my life honestly as my true self. No more secrets, thank God. I'm the happiest I've been in years. But it hasn't been the easiest journey. Transition is definitely not for sissies! LOL I've had to deal with discrimination, as well as some really challenging talks with my family. I've sometimes wondered how anyone makes it through all this, but so far I'm doing OK.
Thankfully, I've got some really great friends who've been wonderfully supportive. Including that one special friend that makes it all worthwhile. I love you, baby!
