I'm b-a-a-a-a-ck! (Hmmmm. Wonder if those who even noticed I was gone think that's good news or bad?)

The story is simply this: URNA was fun, and then it wasn't. Actually, a lot of my life stopped being fun. Due to bad health and worse judgment, trying to be the frisky smart-ass folks knew online became a difficult, dishonest and ultimately losing effort. Jude became a sad drudge and trying to make myself seem otherwise was futile. The disconnect was too great; I felt hypocritical and cynical, as though I was starting to lie to the very people with whom I should be most honest.

So I retreated offline, to that small slice of my real-life friends who know all sides of me and who could reasonably be depended upon to show me at least SOME patience during my long self-pity party.

To those who worried about me, to those who felt I might be angry at or disappointed in them, and even to those who thought I was merely showing my true colors as a rude bitch, I sincerely apologize. Be assured that I worried as much about walking away as you did about my disappearance, that the only one around here that I was angry or disappointed with was myself...and that I am actually an unusually POLITE bitch, if one who temporarily and rather unforgivably forgot whatever manners her momma managed to impart to her.

After so many months A.W.O.L. (as one friend put it), I can only hope that those I neglected won't think of me as an A.S.S.O.L. To the surprising number of you who didn't give up on someone who nearly gave up on herself, I offer my thanks...and my love. You know who you are. I hope you also know how much you mean to me.

Now, before I smudge my eyeliner (or start giving the sugar-intolerant among you diabetes), I'll be unexpectedly short-winded...at least THIS month. (And for those who don't know me, yes, for me, this is as short-winded as it gets.)
